FiSMA is hosting STX-METRI Annual Seminar
STX-METRI Annual Seminar
1.11.2012, 12:30 – 16:30, Edison 2, Innopoli II, Espoo
Lappeenranta University of Technology and University Eastern Finland are organizing a software testing seminar in collaboration with FISMA (Finnish Software Measurement Association). The results of two research projects will be presented in the seminar. There will also be presentations related to safety critical systems and the use of PTP – process model in practice.
The objective of LUT’s STX project (Software Testing for Intended Quality) is to increase productivity in software engineering by lowering testing and development costs. The research goal is to explain how software development, testing and quality depend on one another. The STX results support companies in making software development more efficient and hence, improving achieved quality. STX project is also studying an emerging research area on testing in the cloud, and this will be presented in the seminar.
UEF’s METRI project aims at software product quality improvement through defect data analysis. The most common software engineering defect types identified in the METRI project will be discussed in the seminar. In addition, the SAWO functional defect classification scheme which has been developed based on the identified defect distributions will be presented. Applying the SAWO scheme helps companies in identifying practical process improvement needs via defect classification.
There are 50 spaces available, on a first come, first serve basis.
